MASSERIA BERZARIO - SALENTO

Masseria Berzario is located in one of the most strategic locations among the farms where I stayed in Salento, as halfway between Lecce and Otranto and to all the most famous sea resorts of the area, a few kilometers from the sea, you can choose the rocky part or the sandy part. The farm dates back to 1700 and retains its rural nature and guests who choose to stay choose to live in close contact with nature, unlike other farms.
Guests have at their disposal 5 rooms and a mini-apartment. The rooms are clean and very welcoming, and all overlook the well-kept courtyard of the Masseria. They can accommodate both couples and families. Every morning the guests are welcomed by Mr. Italo, owner of the Masseria, and by Mrs. Lea, who pamper them with a genuine breakfast of fresh fruit at km0, collected directly in the farm.
I stayed almost a week in the Masseria Berzario and it was like immersing myself in the nature and enjoying the real Salento countryside, in fact every morning I was delighted by the fruit collected daily by Mr. Italo, having learned of my intolerances, in addition to figs, peaches, prickly pears etc.etc. I needed the eggs from the hens of the Masseria. A stone's throw from Otranto and Lecce, I spent the day between relax and the sea and the evening more city life. If you want to escape from the usual routine and enjoy the real rural life, I recommend without any doubt the Masseria Berzario, is a panacea for the spirit and the mind! I suggest you also to go from the "COOPERATIVA MACCHIA del BARONE" in Melendugno, where you can find all the typical Salento products and wholesome.
